What it does

Every game you own, boxed and on display.

V-Shelf finds your games, grabs their box art, and stacks them on the shelf of a room you pick. It sits behind your desktop icons like any wallpaper, so your library is always one click away.

Real box art

Covers come straight from Steam, including brand-new releases.

Click to play

Pull a case off the shelf to play it, install it, or open its store page.

Sort and filter

By name, playtime, recently played, installed or not, and genre.

Pick your room

Six rooms: Cyberpunk Bedroom, Lofi Apartment, Arcade, Video Store, Snowy Cabin and Holiday. More on the way.

Hovering a game case on the shelf shows a large preview with its playtime and when it was last played.

Pick one

Pull it off the shelf.

Click any case and it slides out as a full boxed copy, with your playtime, when you last played, and a big Play button. Not installed? Install it or open its store page from the same spot, then put it back on the shelf.

A selected game, Stardew Valley, pulled off the shelf as a 3D box next to a panel with its genre, playtime, last played date and a Play button. The same selected game shown in the Lofi Apartment's pink colours.

It finds your games

Installed games show up right away. Add a free Steam key to show everything you own.

Pick a room

Choose a room and your shelf fills itself. New installs appear on their own.

Questions

FAQ

When does it launch, and how much will it cost?

It's in testing now. It'll be a small one-time price, no subscription. Join the list and you'll get one email the day it's out.

Can I try it before I buy?

Yes. The free demo puts six of your games on a small shelf in the Dorm Room, so you can see your own library on your desktop first.

What do I need to run it?

A Windows 10 or 11 PC with Steam. V-Shelf runs inside Wallpaper Engine or the free Lively Wallpaper app (desktop or Microsoft Store version).

Does it work with more than one monitor or Windows account?

V-Shelf runs on one monitor, and you pick which screen in Wallpaper Engine, so your other screens stay free for any wallpaper you like. It works with one Windows account per PC.

Windows says "Windows protected your PC". Is it safe?

Yes. V-Shelf is new and not code-signed yet, so Windows shows this for any small new app. Click More info, then Run anyway.

Is my Steam account safe?

V-Shelf never asks for your Steam password. It reads the library files already on your PC and only talks to Steam's public store to fetch box art and genres. To show games you own but haven't installed, you can optionally paste a free Steam Web API key, which stays on your computer.

What about Epic, GOG or Xbox games?

Steam comes first. Other launchers are on the list for later.

Does it slow down my PC or games?

It's a light web wallpaper. Wallpaper Engine and Lively both pause wallpapers automatically while you're playing a game in full screen.

Was AI used to make it?

Yes. The room art, the looping window views and the fire were generated with AI (Google Flow), then keyed, stabilized and assembled by hand. The shelf, the box art loading and the app itself are built by hand.

Get it the day it launches.

One email. That's it.
